	Upcoming Events Recent Events Calendar Regional Groups Calendar Archive About SIGS	A Visit to Careme 350 by Amy Sherman Last month the California Culinary Academy moved the Careme Room from its historic location on Polk Street and officially ushered in a new era, opening the Careme 350 dining room at their new digs on Potrero Hill. According to CCA’s President, Jennifer White, the school looks forward to partnering with the Potrero Hill community going forward. “Much of CCA’s legacy and that of The Carême Room is centered on the terrific relationships we were able to build near our Civic Center campus". “With so many amazing organizations nearby, such as Project Open Hand and the Tenderloin Community School, we had the pleasure of building lasting friendships that have allowed our students to understand how the culinary industry is inextricably linked to the communities in which it operates. We are excited to form those same bonds in Potrero Hill.” Dining at the restaurant presents a chance to see future chefs and culinary professionals in action. Dishes are prepared and served by students and some of the dishes really shine. At dinner on the opening night a refreshing peach soup was served as an intermezzo course and was a hit with everyone at my table. The ling cod with potatoes and asparagus was perfectly cooked and plated and most importantly, perfectly delicious. I also enjoyed a lusciously moist almond cake topped with fresh fruit and flourishes. The San Francisco Professional Food Society thanks the CCA for their longstanding sponsorship. We congratulate them on the opening of Careme 350 and wish them continued success!
