Jacques: An Evening with Jacques PépinIn conversation with Laura Werlin Interview, reception, book-signing in honor of the newly published Chez Jacques Monday, May 21, 2007 / Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco $45 Members | $55 Guests Click here to register online Jacques Pépin, who needs no introduction, joins the SFPFS for a conversation with fellow author and SFPFS member, Laura Werlin to discuss his recently published book, Chez Jacques: Traditions and Rituals of a Cook (Stewart, Tabori & Chang) and much, much more. For his latest book, Jacques collected 100 of his favorite recipes from among the thousands he has created. These are the ones he returns to again and again while preparing meals in his Connecticut home. Each recipe is introduced with a personal recollection or story. Jacques’ own paintings grace the book. Laura Werlin, who has a background in television news producing, is best known in the culinary world for her expertise in artisan American cheese. She won a James Beard award for her All-American Cheese and Wine Book (Stewart, Tabori & Chang, 2003). The conversation will be followed by a reception featuring recipes adapted from Chez Jacques, a book sale and signing. Attendees will receive a special book rate of $40. San Francisco’s historic Fairmont Hotel hosts us in their top floor Crown Room with breathtaking views of the surrounding bay.
